  1. What if my son were hung up for all the world to see?

My son. My 19 year old, fun loving, hockey playing, smile ready for anyone, sweet boy was the only chance to save the world?

I doubt I could let him do it. I’d take his place. I would.

I could not let my child be beaten and impaled and scourged and strung up on a rough beam to bleed and suffocate.

    But Mary had to.

I always think of Mary on Good Friday, watching her boy die. She was his mommy. He loved her. Jesus made provision for her as He died. But what must have gone through her mind and heart when her son, whom she knew to be God, cried out in pain?

Grief and hope? Did God give her a special measure of peace? Did God whisper “fear not”?

After He appeared to His disciples, did Jesus go to His mother and say “Mom, I’m back. I’m okay.”

I bet He did. And I bet she knew He was coming.
