Well, here we are again, wrapping up another week. Friday, sliding into the weekend … and then gearing up for Monday and all that next week holds.
I don’t know how your week went — how many successes you’re celebrating right now, how many disappointments you’re trying to shrug off. Or pray through.
But here’s one thing I do know: no matter how you’re feeling today — no matter how you’re feeling about the week — you’re you. Dr. Seuss says that’s “pleasant.”
- God says you’re worth loving with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3)
- God says you have a purpose. (Psalm 138:8)
- God says he knows you. (Psalm 139:1)
- God says you’re chosen. (1 Peter 2:9)
That’s the truth … and it should rest pleasant in your heart.

How did the week go? Well…functionally pretty good, physically brutal.
Still delighted about having a top agent ask for a full MS, and equally delighted that I was able to overcome some computer weirdness and get the thing out in a timely manner.
Why did Word decide to randomly place “+” signs throughout the document? Was it bored, or its way of being positive and affirming?
On the other hand, even sitting up was painful and tiring, and there are moments when I don’t know how to go on. Not much choice, but when just breathing brings you to tears, something’s amiss.
Which brings to mind how I scanned the quote from Ted Geisel…”You are you. Now is (not) that pleasant.”
No, it’s not. But I would not change it, because removing the illness would remove the spur it gives to faith, compassion, and the sometimes poignant appreciation of each moment.

I’ll go with the Jeremiah quote. God gives him several similar statements, which gives interesting insight into his humanity, and God’s faithfulness. The sun is shining here. This week will be better.

Love Andrew’s spirit! My week? It’s been one of revelation. Never had writer’s block before. But here I am in the middle of the book and blank. Uh, oh. Means one of two things or both. I didn’t flesh my character out enough or I need a break. I’m choosing Psalm 138:8 He chose me to write this particular book, and He will give me the solution.

I’ve been where you are, Pat.
Sometimes I have to walk away — get outside. Fresh air, literally and figuratively. Sometimes I have to grab my trusty Book Buddy 😉 and walk through that Muddle Middle again and see where I dropped my tension. And yes, God will see you through.
Beth, I especially like the verses that remind me of how God views me. Sometimes, His view of me is VERY different from my view of me.
My week has been relatively restful. Forced stillness has been good and helped me to think through a few things I hadn’t really considered. It’s been a little up and down with the kids, but I’m getting back into a better writing groove, and this makes me happy.
Jer 31:3 is one of my all time favorites!
